This is Amanda
Since completing a Music Therapy internship in 2007 Amanda Martin has provided services to a broad range of populations from early childhood to adults with developmental disabilities and neurological disorders. In a range of settings from Day Centers to residential facilities large music groups focus on socialization and comradery that is supported through singing, instrument playing, movement, reminiscence, and creativity. Music Therapy practices focus on providing opportunities for clients to connect with one another as well as rediscover individual memories and playfulness.

Bio
Amanda has been sole owner and operator of Music Therapy Services of Athens since 2013. Her clinical practice has included a range of clientele; including children with developmental, neurological, and emotional diagnosis; adults with disabilities, and older adults in memory care and assisted living homes.
Amanda is the youngest published author of a clinical study in the Journal of Music Therapy, focusing on the effectiveness of music interventions with ESOL middle schoolers. In addition to her private practice Amanda teaches beginning guitar at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music at the University of Georgia. Before being the first graduate of the Masters of Music Therapy program at UGA in 2023, Amanda received specialized training in Neurologic Music Therapy, NICU Music Therapy, and earned a certification in Non-Profit Management.
She earned a directors excellence award in her master.s completion, but the biggest reward of her career has been sharing the power of music to transform and enhance the quality of life of those who are in need.
